Year 3 Neuro-Inclusive Environment, Climate & Sustainability Curriculum: Term 3

Year 3 Neuro-Inclusive Environment, Climate & Sustainability Curriculum: Term 3

Year 3, Term 3 of the Heal Earth Curriculum transforms students into active Climate Innovators through "The Solutions Lab." Having explored the world’s infrastructure and material systems, learners now apply their knowledge to solve real-world problems within their own school community. This term empowers children to move beyond eco-anxiety by providing them with the tools of Design Thinking, fostering a powerful sense of agency and a "Growth Mindset" that celebrates iteration and creative resilience.

Learners become "Design Detectives" as they audit their school grounds using "Focus Frames" to spot environmental flaws and empathize with the needs of both human and wild users. They engage in "Crazy 8s" brainstorming to generate wild ideas and move into the "Innovation Lab" to build, test, and refine 3D prototypes made from recycled materials. The term culminates in a celebratory "Solutions Fair," where students practice their persuasive "1-Minute Pitches," establishing a lasting identity as confident Future Builders who know they have the power to fix the world.
