Year 1 Neuro-Inclusive Environment, Climate & Sustainability Curriculum: Term 2

Year 1 Neuro-Inclusive Environment, Climate & Sustainability Curriculum: Term 2

Year 1, Term 2 of the Heal Earth Curriculum transitions children from observation to active participation in the web of life. This term explores Living Systems, focusing on the magic of biological potential and the essential ethics of care. Learners move beyond simply watching nature to becoming "Garden Guardians" who nurture life from a dormant seed to a successful harvest.

Students investigate the "Tiny Suitcases" of seeds, build Maze Boxes to witness plant intelligence in action, and adopt the role of "Plant Doctors" to interpret the non-verbal sign language of thirsty seedlings. By auditing their own lunchboxes to trace food origins and participating in a collaborative Gratitude Feast, students develop deep ecological empathy and a foundational understanding of the systems that feed our world.
