Year 4 Neuro-Inclusive Environment, Climate & Sustainability Curriculum: Term 2

Year 4, Term 2 of the Heal Earth Curriculum transitions students from identifying global inequalities to investigating "Technology as a Healing Tool." Through the "Tech for Climate" module, learners explore how human innovation and data can monitor and mitigate the effects of a changing climate. Students shift their identity from problem-spotters to active Climate Innovators and Data Scientists, discovering that technology, when guided by nature's wisdom, is a powerful force for planetary restoration.

Learners engage in hands-on engineering as they design high-efficiency wind turbines and construct solar ovens to harvest thermal energy. They gain "Planetary Vision" by using satellite remote sensing to monitor melting glaciers and rainforest loss from space. By applying the principles of biomimicry—learning from nature’s 3.8 billion years of R&D—and practicing "unplugged" coding to solve waste-sorting challenges, students build a comprehensive "Tech Toolkit." The term culminates in an Innovation Pitch, where students demonstrate how their designs can heal the Earth.
