Year 1 Neuro-Inclusive Environment, Climate & Sustainability Curriculum: Term 3

Year 1, Term 3 of the Heal Earth Curriculum invites children to discover the beauty of natural rhythms through "Cycles & Seasons." This term shifts focus toward pattern recognition, helping learners understand that while the Earth is always changing, it moves through predictable and life-sustaining loops. Students develop "Planetary Patience" as they observe the sky’s moods and the slow, magical recycling of water and weather.

Learners become "Sky Watchers" and "Weather Detectives," tracking daily changes in their personal diaries and investigating the "Ghost Water" of evaporation in the playground. They build cozy dens for hibernating neighbours and construct "Bug Hotels" to support local biodiversity through the shifting seasons. By creating "Story Stones" and hanging their "Promise Leaves" on the class tree, students celebrate their year of growth and prepare to transition into Year 2 as confident Guardians of the Web.
