Year 3 Neuro-Inclusive Environment, Climate & Sustainability Curriculum: Term 1

Year 3 Neuro-Inclusive Environment, Climate & Sustainability Curriculum: Term 1

Year 3, Term 1 of the Heal Earth Curriculum invites children to investigate the invisible networks that power their lives through the "Water & Energy Networks" module. This term marks a significant pedagogical shift from local observation to global infrastructure awareness. Learners move behind the walls and under the streets to discover that water and energy are not "magic," but precious resources delivered by complex human-built systems that connect us all.

Learners become "Infrastructure Architects" as they design straw pipelines to move water and participate in "The Water Walk" to empathize with global neighbors living with resource scarcity. They conduct classroom "Vampire Audits" to hunt for standby energy and use the "Candy Coal Mine" to visualize the environmental cost of extracting finite resources. By pairing these global challenges with tangible classroom actions, students build the emotional resilience and scientific agency needed to graduate the term as confident Systems Thinkers.
