Roots in the City Summer Festival
As an informal extension of London Climate Action Week, Heal Earth is thrilled to launch the Roots in the City Summer Festival, a global visual celebration of urban nature, everyday conservation, and sustainable living.
Whether it’s a brilliant community garden in a bustling metropolis, a hidden pocket of wildflowers on your commute, or an innovative sustainability practice in your neighborhood, we want to see the world through your lens.
This summer, step outside, look around, and help us document the green heartbeat of our urban spaces.
How to Participate
Taking part is simple. You don't need to be a professional photographer, you just need a smartphone or a camera and a keen eye for nature.
Step Outside: Head out into your city, town, or local neighborhood this summer.
Capture the Moment: Snap a photograph or record a short video clip (under 60 seconds).
Share Your Vision: Submit your media to Heal Earth to be featured in our global summer gallery!
What Are We Looking For?
We are looking for authentic glimpses of the environment thriving alongside human life. Capture moments like:
Urban Nature: Wildlife adapting to city life, rooftop gardens, or determined plants growing through the cracks in the pavement.
Everyday Conservation: Local recycling initiatives, zero-waste champions, or community-led cleanups.
Sustainable Practices: Innovative green architecture, renewable energy in action, or sustainable transport solutions.
Who Can Join?
Everyone. While this festival was born out of London Climate Action Week, climate change and conservation are global conversations.
Local Entries: If you are in London, show us the hidden green gems of our city!
Global Entries: Whether you are in Tokyo, Toronto, or Timbuktu, we want to see how your city champions nature.
