Year 2 Neuro-Inclusive Environment, Climate & Sustainability Curriculum: Term 2

Year 2, Term 2 of the Heal Earth Curriculum invites children to explore the intricate invisible systems that sustain our communities through the Food Networks module. This term transitions learners from observing individual plants to understanding the complex Farm to Fork journeys that bring food to our plates. Students discover that every bite they take is connected to a global web of farmers, drivers, soil, and water.

Learners become Food Detectives as they trace local supply chains and use Fruit Passports to calculate the food miles of tropical treats. They investigate the Virtual Water hidden inside everyday items and meet the FBI (Fungi, Bacteria, Invertebrates) to witness the Magic Rot of composting. The term culminates in a collaborative Community Feast, where students practice social inclusion and gratitude, establishing a lasting identity as conscious participants in the Earth's regenerative cycles.
